A20 Main Server Launch

Image
If you've been on discord you have already been playing as things were set up, but for everyone else. The main server is back for A20. This has been a hectic launch to say the least, so i decided to launch a barebones server on Christmas eve and set up the features behind the scenes later. There are still a couple things still not available like the arena, but that will arrive over the next few days. We have all the mods, custom prefabs, server hub with tp portal etc and the numerous features curtesy of CSMM, tp's, etc  The webmap is available but incomplete for the moment, that will hopefully get sorted soon. All server details are below including the optional files for the custom prefabs. Server Name:   Naza’s Insane Survival A19 Server [PVE|UK|24/7] Server IP/Domain:  nssmain.game-server.cc Port: 25006 Server:  Map Optional Files:  Download

Moving to a new alpha details

Word on the grape vine is A20 will be releasing to streamers this weekend and public experimental the following Monday. However take that with a pinch of salt as it may be the weekend after or later, however i thought i'd explain the migration process so players know what to expect. First up is some basics, most players here will already know these but for the sake of completion i'll explain them anyway. When a new major alpha version is released current worlds and saves will no longer be compatible. So a new map and save is required, that's just the way it is. New major alpha versions always release in experimental first. This means your game won't update if you're currently opted out of betas (the default in steam) To get it to update to the experimental version i'd recommend launching the game with "show game launcher" first and use the "clean game data" option in the tools tab, i'd then uninstall. At this point you can right click the...

Small Update - New Custom Small Prefab

Image
Added another custom POI to the servers portfolio, this time wind turbines. This is a tier 0 POI no quests, however there are enemies and some loot. There are 11 of them scattered around the map, look in the mountains to find them ;) As Usual Optional files Download updated. Another small update is Tuesdays are going to be our maintenance days. Every week i'll restart all the gear and update all the software. This is so everything continues to run smoothly and consistently. Expect a couple minutes longer unscheduled server restart best case on the day. (I'll of course inform any players on at the time, will happen usually morning to afternoon) Worst case up to 30 minutes of downtime depending on what needs done.

Small Update - New custom POI for the main server

Image
A small side project I've been working on, a lighthouse POI. It's just a small tier 2 POI but it is questable. I've placed 8 of them around the map. Follow the coast and you'll run into one of them eventually ;) I also updated the optional files with the new prefab, so if you want to be able to see it at a distance. While not required to explore, loot etc it must be installed client side for the distant mesh to function. However if not installed the only issue that's apparent is it won't appear (Spawn) until you are close to it. You can get the updated optional files Here  As usual there is a simple readme in there for install instructions.

Custom Prefab Changes for A20

Image
I always like to overhaul my prefabs before the next update. So i've been mainly working on the Carrier server hub prefab. I've managed to improve performance by 50% for this prefab since it's often the worst performing area on the server while being the first place people spawn. Some of the changes will require a new system for the player stores, rented vending machines and player quarters. Having every single one fully furbished has a huge performance impact.   So now there is 1 "demo/example" store for both types and the same with the quarters. The rest are empty and "shuttered". Donators who wish to run a store or setup their quarters can now simply build it how they want. The only rules are you can only have 2 vending machines in the smaller stores and 4 in the larger ones for donators. Any player may also place their own vending machine in the vending machine area (1 per player only) This is to help keep performance at an acceptable level since th...

Server Updated to A19.4

Been a while but i'm still around :P been pretty quiet at Nazy's Survivors but there are a couple items today. First server is updated to A19.4 and 2nd is a while ago i set up a server to self host CSMM. What this means is we have a dedicated machine handling that manager now and we will no longer experience CSMM outages or slow downs with the player commands due to the CSMM servers being overloaded.
